How to call Nagorno-Karabakh (country code +374)

Note: Nagorno-Karabakh’s phone network is currently accessed through the Armenian phone network. The region is considered by the UN to be part of Azerbaijan.

Calling to Nagorno-Karabakh

  • A leading ‘0’ is not included in the international call sequence – it is only used in the Armenian phone network (including Nagorno-Karabakh) for domestic long distance calls and domestic calls to a mobile phone.
  • A leading '+' in the phone number means 'dial your country's exit code'.
  • Calling from a mobile phone: dial from on the country where you're currently located.
  • Calling from a VoIP or satellite phone: dial from on the country where the phone is registered.

Armenia’s (and Nagorno-Karabakh’s) country code may be mis-labelled:

  • Country code 00374 (exit code of ’00’ used in many European, Asian, and African nations followed by Armenia’s country code of ‘374’).
  • Country code 011374 (exit code of ‘011’ used in the United States and Canada followed by Armenia’s country code of ‘374’).

When calling to a mis-labelled country code, remove the exit code from the call sequence and replace it with the exit code of the country the call is dialed from.

… to a mobile (cellular) phone or text (sms)

Use the same call sequence.

Mobile phone numbers are on area codes beginning with ’97’.

When calling a mobile phone user, call to the country where the mobile phone is registered, regardless of where the person being called is currently roaming.

… to a VoIP phone

Use the same call sequence.

When calling a VoIP phone user, call to the country where the VoIP phone is registered, regardless of where the person being called is currently roaming.

… to a satellite phone

The Armenian phone network does not have a country-specific satellite phone system.

Most satellite phones operate on their own country code – calls to these satellite phones follow their own call sequence.

… sending a fax
