‘0’ is used as a trunk prefix when calling to a different area code or a mobile phone in Cuba.

Cuban phone numbers are seven to eight digits including the area code (not including a leading ‘0’ that is not dialed when called from outside the country.
The first one to two digits is an area code. It designates a geographic part of the country.
Mobile numbers begin with digit ‘5’.
